The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 8-5-2023 at approximately 11:47 am, their office received a report of a possible explosion at a residence on Lakewood Drive, approximately three miles north of Randall, MN in Cushing Township.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, 65-year-old Joseph Then of Randall, MN was driving a tractor on his property. The tractor hit an underground propane tank valve which sparked and caused an explosion. Joseph Then was badly burned and was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center by Life Link III where he later passed away as a result of his injuries.
The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Randall Fire & Rescue, Scandia Valley Fire Department, Life Link III and Mayo Clinic Ambulance.
