According to the USDA confirmed cases of H5N1 Highly
Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HAPI) began occurring in
the United States in February of 2022. Many of these initial
cases were in the eastern part of the country, more specifically
in the Atlantic Flyway. Throughout February and March,
additional impacts were seen on the East Coast as well as
in the Midwest. As of March 25, cases have been identified
in Minnesota, including Morrison County.
The Minnesota Board of Animal Health shares that Federal
and State partners are working jointly on additional surveillance
and testing while following avian influenza response plans.
Morrison County is prepared to support the USDA, Minnesota
Department of Health, and Minnesota Department of Agriculture
in their response to cases in our County.
