Over the past several weeks Morrison County Public Health has been administering COVID-19 vaccinations to the Phase 1 population. Morrison County Public Health has been following the guidance set by Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) to identify those who fall into the Phase 1 population and working through limited allocations of vaccine. Some groups that were invited to be vaccinated as Phase 1 include healthcare workers, first responders, and group homes with high risk clients. Morrison County Public Health is working closely with local healthcare and pharmacies to expand reach.
At this time, Morrison County Public Health is not vaccinating the general public, including those that fall in the 65+ population. Morrison County Public Health is not taking names for a waiting list. We continue to expand our reach for vaccines at Morrison County Public Health as vaccine becomes more readily available. Our ongoing goal is to get vaccine out as quickly as possible to the identified priority populations without vaccine waste.
Communicating this information to the public is high priority. Methods of communication will be different dependent on priority groups, please stay tuned to local news sources and our Morrison County COVID-19 website for the most up to date information on vaccine distribution.
