Property Taxes Payable in 2021

The Morrison County Board of Commissioners recognizes that the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic may impact the payment of property taxes for residents this year.  Pursuant to Minn. Stat. §279.01, subd. 2, the County Board delegates to the Morrison County Auditor/Treasurer the ability to abate the penalty for late payment of property taxes payable in 2021.

The County Board requested that the Auditor/Treasurer impose the following modified penalties for late payment of property taxes due & payable in 2021 for all applicable property classifications as follows:

  • For taxes paid between 5/18/2021 & 6/30/2021 a penalty of 1%
  • For taxes paid between 7/1/2021 & 7/31/2021 a penalty of 2%
  • For taxes paid on or after 8/1/2021 penalty otherwise imposed by law

Due Dates

  • May 15 Real Property (1st Half, or entire bill if $100 or Less)
  • May 31 Real Property - Resorts (1st Half)
  • August 31 Manufactured Homes (1st Half, or entire bill if $50 or Less)
  • October 15 Real Property - Non-agriculture (2nd Half)
  • November 15 Real Property - Agriculture (2nd Half)
  • November 15 Manufactured Homes (2nd Half)

Please note: If a due date falls on a weekend or legal holiday, the effective due date moves to the next business day. Personal property and severed mineral interest taxes are due at the same time as real property taxes.

In Person

Tax payments may be made in person at the Auditor/Treasurer’s Office during office hours. Cash or checks are acceptable.

Payment Drop Box

The box is located on the corner of Broadway (Highway 27) and 2nd Street SE. Payments are picked up daily.

The postmark is the proof of timely mailing. It must be postmarked on or before the due date to avoid penalty.
