**Important Announcement**

The next update to the Morrison County Land Use Control Ordinance is scheduled for public hearing on August 30, 2022 at 6:00 pm in the Board Room of the Morrison County Government Center.

You may provide comment on these amendments in any the following ways:

  • Email prior to the hearing:
  • Call the Land Services Department prior to the hearing: 320.632.0170
  • Attend the Public Hearing on August 30, 2022, at 6:00 pm in the Board Room of the Morrison County Government Center.


The Planning and Zoning division administers county wide land use controls that guide property development and use within the unincorporated areas of the county. These controls address:

  • Building permits
  • Feedlots
  • Floodplain
  • On-site septic systems (SSTS)
  • Shoreland
  • Subdivisions and Parcel Splits
    • Prior to recording a parcel split you must obtain a Certificate of Review from the Land Services Department

This division also provides staff support for the county Board of Adjustment/Planning Commission

Please note: Payment must be submitted with application Applications can take 2 to 3 weeks to be approved.
